How many times am I going to go to Grosse Pointe? Well, considering as many times as I went to Barcade, I'll say 'x'. Which means: who knows? It might not be every Thursday, but I will be doing several Thursdays. I was so itching for a win. After being so close a few weeks beforehand, I was going to try my best to get at least in the Final 4. It just depends on where I finish in the qualifying. -Transformers: I don't get a whole lot of practice on this game, because Grosse Pointe is the closest that I can play without it feeling like a road trip. Those upper flipper shots are hard to get. There looks to be two ramps from the right flipper? It was hard to really note because I didn't really have time to figure it out, but somehow, just somehow, I got Multiball on balls 1 and 3. I didn't even have to sweat it, for I was so far ahead. I won that round. -King Kong: Unlike most King Kong games, Grosse Pointe's was TOTALLY on point! Biplane ramps, perfect. Gong, perfect. I found out that Save Ann is my favorite mode on there. I did a lot of things on balls 2 and 3, and I kinda dominated. Another win. This was the start I wanted after 2. -Simpsons Pinball Party: One of my competitors really put it on. It was back and forth, and ball 3 I had a lot of catching up. I was down 20M. I put up a ginormous ball, only to be in the lead by a little bit, which was just enough for my competitor to pass me. I came in second, but that was fun. Not to mention my confidence on Simpsons Pinball Party has risen. -Pulp Fiction: Someone put up a ridiculous score on here. And although I have a little more confidence in this Pulp Fiction (I like Offworld's), I wasn't able to get a huge score. On a positive note, I did score enough to secure second, and it also keeps me in the 1 spot after four rounds. -Grand Lizard: Wasn't too confident as I didn'tknow I dominated after ball 1. I house-balled on ball 2, and I STILL didn't have to play ball 3. That was an exceptional win there. -Star Wars: Great. I was in the 1 spot, and I had a feeling that I was not going to be after this game. I tried a few things and it still did not equate to a win. I seriously need to find a place to learn this game. This game is as brutal to me as Ghostbusters. -Star Wars (again): AGAIN?! I already loathe this game. I already had a bad game 1. I found out a few things but I didn't get enough to win. 2nd on this game feels like a win, really. I made it to the final 4! Even better: I finished as the 1 seed! I get to pick the game! Wait... that's the hard part. I was not masterful in any of them... except The Simpsons. I tried it. Ball 1 was amazing, but it was still close because I had a competitor who was right close behind me. On ball 2, I found myself behind, but I rose right back to the lead. The third ball was the crucial ball... I had to wait and see if one of the competitors went ahead of me. The closest competitor drained early, and the other drained far behind. So I didn't have to play my third ball. Well what do you know... I won at Grosse Pointe! That was a big confidence boost. A side note: Grand Lizard now has my attention. It was a rainy Thursday but I was quite the happy guy on the bus ride all the way back home. Am I going back to Grosse Pointe? Yes, but not sure when. I am looking at 2-3 weeks from now. The timing will be interesting for one reason: I won a $25 gift card to nearby Howlers and Growlers. So whatever day I go, it might be a double dance. Besides, Howlers and Growlers has Pokemon there. I am hoping that Pokemon returns to Mum's, really (and put that Star Wars 2017 somewhere else! As much as I am happy about winning, I still hate that Star Wars). I do know that Berkley is on October 19. I might go back to Grosse Pointe the Thursday of that week. If Offword's isn't that week too, which who knows? PLACE: 1st | GRADE: A+ |
