Grosse Pointe yet again. And this time, strikes. I'm not a big fan of strikes, but then the goal is not to get last. A few strikes early on is fine, but 7 is the magic number, and I was trying to stay ahead. Revenge From Mars - I've gone from not liking this game to being somewhat adequate. I had a good start at the beginning and really didn't look back. I win. No strike. Star Wars (2017) - I seriously hate this game. Ball 1 was bad to everyone, but I could not really handle things in ball 2. I came in 3rd. Strike 1. Simpsons Pinball Party - This game is super fun. Unfortunately I did not have enough to make a huge comeback after two duds. I came in 3rd again. Strike 2. Cyclone - Getting the Jackpot on Cyclone is very hard. And to score on here takes a lot of precise shots. Which is not easy. It reminded me of the Bad Cats center ramp shot, except the shot is as tight as John Wick. I ended up in 3rd again. This is beginning to be a theme here. Strike 3. Batman 66 - This game went from being abhorrent to... well, it's getting there. Especially since I went from dead last to... second. I still don't like this game but all I need to do is learn the shots better and I might actually love this game. For now, another strike... 4 already. This isn't looking good. Transformers - FINALLY! I get to play this game. I figured out a few things and then I didn't. It took me a while but I realized two shots that were good - the Prime shot and the lock shot. The Megatron shot was not as easy. I still managed to get a second on this game. Too bad I was inflicted my 5th strike. King Kong - This King Kong has been good to me lately, unlike Offworld's and Berkley's. I did okay after ball 1, and I figure out which mode I loved better. Also, I did a NYC event mode and even got to T-Rex and did quite better than usual. Overall, I got a win after 5 straight losses. I stay at 5 strikes. Transformers (again) - Okay, Skill Shot Prime, lock, repeat, backhand Megatron for mode, lock for MB, go crazy. That's what I needed to do. Twice. Another win. Stay at 5 strikes. Cyclone - (again) - I started out on a note that I needed a good ball 1, then I proceed to get the Jackpot on ball 1! And I never went back. Another win and I stay at 5 strikes. My groove was coming back. I was at 5 strikes, but unfortunately... things happened. So well, I had to leave in the middle of the tournament, so 4th. It's fine, really. I didn't expect much of that one. I could have had a chance to finish higher or even win it, but of course... circumstances. I'll come back for the Thursday tournament on September 24. |
