I am working on putting most of my pinball highlights on here instead of Facebook. Most people don't care about it on there. Facebook has become a cesspool of 'which political party is better', 'what religion is better', and 'what race is better'. No wonder. But anyway, enough of that. Monday (August 17) was the pinball tournament at Berkley. I had anticipated to have a good outing, especially that I wanted to go see Spider-Man soon and that I would not be able to go without any type of confidence. I hate Mondays because I am always broke on that day (and that payday is on a Tuesday), so hopefully a win would bring things better. Not to mention Berkley is usually hard to play at because you don't get to practice on any other day. I came in 2nd on Pokemon, 3rd on King Kong (I am beginning to hate that game), 3rd on World Poker Tour (my feel for that game is up and down really), 1st on Star Wars (The 2017 one, I seriously don't know how I won considering I hate that game, but I put up a score high enough to win), and 2nd on Terminator 2 (of course I was going to lose to Jared). I ended up making the finals as the 8 seed. I was majorly surprised I made the playoffs. In the quarterfinals the first game was Uncanny X-Men. I thought my day was over. I ended up getting X-Men Multiball and almost 100M. I had won and advanced to semifinals. The game that was picked was AVENGERS. My eyes went wide. My confidence shot up into the sky. Unfortunately my gameplay shot it six feet under. I COULD NOT HIT ANYTHING THE FIRST TWO BALLS. I get to ball 3. I had a chance. I had a mode lit with a multiball. I just needed to get that one shot and I would be in the Final Four. NOPE. The ball drains. What the flying fuck. I came in LAST on Avengers and was knocked out of the playoffs. HOW. Why is Berkley's Avengers so floaty?!?! You should have seen my face after Berkley. I finished in 6th overall but I feel it should have been a little higher. But then considering that King Kong was the finals game... yeah, I probably would have came in no higher than 3rd. Tuesday (August 18) was League Day at Offworld. I needed a bounce back from the disappointment at Berkley. Things went exceptionally worse. It was a huge roller coaster. Last on Godzilla... what a start. Then I won on Baywatch. Guess what? LAST on King Kong (I am seriously hating that game). Then back into the bottom tier yet I won on Evil Dead. Back to the middle tier, and would you believe: LAST on NBA Fastbreak (that game is trash now). So back in the bottom again... and can you believe it, I won on Pokemon. 3 wins, 3 dead lasts. 24 points, good for a lousy 6th. This was definitely not the best of tournament sets for me. So my confidence for the new Spider-Man was killed in an instant when I got that last on Avengers in Berkley and the many lasts at Offworld. The next tournament for me is September 8. League Finals at Offworld, funny, as I qualified as the 3 seed (I'm actually surprised). This will be very interesting, but then I need to practice more often. Yeah, sure. With my situation?! I need a win badly. Between here and my next attempt at Berkley I need some type of confidence booster. |
